The Advent season starts today. While this picture tempts to convince that Christmas will be without Santa Claus this year, I’m still confident that the image is just a fake.
I finally found the time to upload my pictures from the Gartner Best Practice Council end of October 2008 in Chantilly (close to Paris) on flickr.com and to embed them here.
Gartner.com organized a very nice venue and I have to say. The hotel “Chateau Mont Royal” was excellent and diner at “chez Françoise” just delicious (and this basically at a very attractive price).
I want someone to say that about me at my funeral, at least I want everyone to have a lot of fun on my farewell.
Find below John Cleese’s eulogy on Graham Chapman’s funeral. Graham was (as I am) a physician and most of us have this typical sense of humor. This eulogy to the first member of Monty Python who passed away, was probably truly wanted by himself and is definitely what he deserved for his service to mankind, designing awesome jokes.
“Graham Chapman, co-author of the Parrot Sketch, is no more. He has ceased to be. Bereft of life, he rests in peace. He’s kicked the bucket, hopped the twig, bit the dust, snuffed it, breathed his last, and gone to meet the great Head of Light Entertainment in the sky. And I guess that we’re all thinking how sad it is that a man of such talent, of such capability for kindness, of such unusual intelligence, should now so suddenly be spirited away at the age of only forty-eight, before he’d achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and before he’d had enough fun. Well, I feel that I should say: nonsense. Good riddance to him, the freeloading bastard, I hope he fries. And the reason I feel I should say this is he would never forgive me if I didn’t, if I threw — threw away this glorious opportunity to shock you all on his behalf. Anything for him but mindless good taste. I could hear him whispering in my ear last night as I was writing this. “All right, Cleese,” he was saying, “you’re very proud of being the very first person ever to say ’shit’ on British television; if this service is really for me, just for starters, I want you to become the first person ever, at a British memorial service, to say ‘fuck’ “.
I found the below interesting iPhone issue (? ? ) on the apple discussion forum:
Pictures automatically attach to e-mail? Posted: Nov 11, 2008 1:59 PM
Please help! I took my husband’s i-phone and found a raunchy picture of him attached to an e-mail to a woman in his sent e-mail file (a Yahoo account). When I approached him about this (I think that he is cheating on me) he admitted that he took the picture but says that he never sent it to anyone. He claims that he went to the Genius Bar at the local Apple store and they told him that it is an i-phone glitch: that photos sometimes automatically attach themselves to an e-mail address and appear in the sent folder, even though no e-mail was ever sent. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? The future of my marriage depends on this answer!

Images don’t automatically attach to emails.
I hope you and your husband can work things out though.

I have never heard of such a glitch.
An email will not be in an account’s Sent mailbox unless the message was successfully sent, and an email with a photo attached cannot be created by itself and sent without user interaction.
Finally found time after months to secure my wordpress installation. I installed tonight openSSL on my Linux box, a GeoTrust certificate and enabled Secure Socket Layer. Now the access to the admin area is secured via SSL access and the password transfer is not transparent anymore.
It does not make sense to SSL secure the whole blog, due to performance aspects and the fact that non-secure content are embedded anyhow.
